Vegetarian/vegan (Not ๐ฎ ๐ ๐) pregnancy?
Hello everyone!
I am almost 5 weeks pregnant. First time.
I have been strict vegetarian ๐ฑ (and at least I do half of every week vegan. I donโt drink cowโs milk never...just cheese sometimes and some products that contains eggs) for more than 7 years.
I have more than 3 years without doing a blood test to check the B12, Anemia, etc. Something that I used to do once per year for the first 4 years as vegetarian.
We were unable to get an appoitment with the midwife until week 8 (January).
So far I ate 3 big portions of fish (canned tuna, salmon filet..) because every single paper that they sent me from the countryโs central information about pregnancy says I must eat it. (Plus ever single person that I know - Husband included).
I follow (and admire) a lot of people that have done whole pregnancy without eating animals or derivatives but I am scary about to do it right now because It have been so long without checking my blood and I donโt want to put the baby on risk.
I am planning to have a serious conversation with the midwife about this on the appoitment. But meanwhile during these 2 weeks that I must wait I wish to know if someone have done a full vegan/vegetarian pregnancy successfully, if you have some tips about veg pregnancy and how be sure the baby is getting all thatโ s/he needs for a good development.
Thank you very much! ๐
Hugs to all of you.
