Boyfriend brought up another girl while having sex

so this happened about 5 minutes ago, I was having sex with my boyfriend for the first time in a few weeks, in the middle of it he paused and said "I made the right choice, you're so much better than {other girls name}" (a girl who was/is his friend that he had sex with before me and him got together and is still in our friend group)

I told him that he should have probably waited until after to tell me that, I know that in his head he was complimenting me, he didn't mean for it to hurt me or whatever but after that I couldn't stop thinking that he was comparing me to her, thinking about her while we were having sex, am I wrong and overreacting? 😰
