Rude? Or unintentional?

Yesterday my MIL got our announcement/ Christmas card in the mail and texted my husband saying “does she really look that far along?” He said yeah, that’s really what she looks like, she was wearing a smooth dress (his definition of a bodycon dress lol). And she said “huh, must be twins.” I think this was rude af, but my husband thinks she wasn’t trying to be rude by it. I think she should kinda know better considering she’s been pregnant three times before?? I haven’t even gained weight yet but I am showing a little at 12 weeks. Soo am I being emotional or was this not that bad?

Ummmm yeah, if my mother in law said that I'd be LIVID.  I love how everyone suddenly turns into a doctor when they find out you're pregnant and knows exactly how you should feel/look.  
If it makes you feel better, mine told me that eating a healthy diet prevents morning sickness, and thay my nausea must be caused by a "lack of nutrients"....

I would have been like wtf lol My husband want to tell his grandparents when we first found out we were pregnant (they hate me lol) and his grandmother was like “how do you even know?” And he told her I had missed my period and we had been trying and she said “so how is that possible?” which pissed me off. What do you mean how is that possible?? She has 2 kids she KNOWS how it’s possible. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Personally I think it’s rude but also agree with the other poster that sometimes people say things without thinking and they are just speculating :) this probably won’t be the first time someone will comment on your body image. You’ll probably have to start brushing off things more often than you realize. People are so rude 🙄😞

Sigh. My father in laws reaction was less than unexpected from him 🙄 he told my husband, “guess you guys aren’t ‘doing it’ for practice anymore.” My husband just sat there on the phone in disbelief. He asks us if we “tried” to have a baby 🙄🙄🙄 then proceeds to say, “well thanks for letting me know, I won’t keep ya”. And got off the phone. He’s something else!! Glad he lives states away! I try not to sweat it since the rest of my family and his are over the moon!

My grandfather-in-law’s girlfriend was a surprise guest at his family’s Christmas where we announced and she immediately said “oh yeah there is some pooch there that wasn’t before!” I was like... thanks, lol.
I was only 8 weeks at the time so it was all bloat. I have actually lost weight from being so sick. But good to know people are noticing my flab 😂 pregnancy causes all social decency to go out the window.
