Would you change your name? (read first)

I was previously married and then subsequently divorced. I went back to my maiden name after the divorce and since then I've considered keeping my name if I ever marry again. Now I've met a man, we have a child together, and are planning to get married. I would prefer to keep my maiden name over taking his even though we have a child together. I honestly just like my maiden name better than his last name. He is adamant that I should change it because it's tradition. He feels like I shouldn't marry him if I won't take his name because it's a sign to him that I'm not committed. What would you do?
