Immune to BC?

Is there a point at which you can become immune to the pill and it’s no longer effective? How long would you have to take it for that to happen?

Don’t worry, that doesn’t happen. You don’t build immunity to prescriptions like birth control, or most medicines actually.

BC can be rendered ineffective if your dose isn't high enough for your body weight, or if you take certain medications or supplements. Allergies are also possible. Immunity would require an immunity to the hormone your body produces, which is possible but super-duper unlikely.

no but for someone like me I can't go on any bc as it makes me sick have tried 3 different types.  and the Dr wanted to try one more but by that stage I was a wreck.  I can't go on the pill as it gives me migraines. the rod was useless for me I bled for 5 no the in a row before I told them to take it out. my body took a year to recover. the injections were a waste of time same issue bleeding all the time.  the Cooper coil. isn't that effective and it makes periods heavier.  and as mine is already really heavy we didn't want to try that one. so I have been off bc for 2 years.  have haven't got pregnant. we are careful I track when I ovulate. and we don't have unprotected sex until I know I have finished.  haven't got pregnant so far.

No, I have never heard of someone building up an immunity to BC. You don’t build immunity to anything that’s not viral, bacterial, or fungal. What you can build is a tolerance and that’s to like NSAIDS, which are not hormonal.
