Prenatal or wait?

hey mamas! i want your opinions/experiences...my husband bought me a gift certificate for a 90 minute massage a facial for christmas. i am currently almost 33 weeks. should i go ahead and get a prenatal massage at 36+ weeks (36 weeks will be the first time i’m not busy), or should i wait until after and get a regular massage?

Depends on what your wanting from the massage. Prenatal massage is performed different than a regular one. They will take into consideration that your pregnant and there is some things they have to do different. like you won't be flat on your back or obviously your stomach during a prenatal massage. They will have to avoid pressure points on your ankles while pregnant so that will alter the foot massage some. And take into consideration how your feeling now. Like are you comfortable enough to get the massage now as in laying on your side for the massage and what not. If your wanting to use the massage to relieve pregnancy related pains I would go ahead and get it now. Personally if it was me id save it for an after baby treat to myself. Your personal choice. If you do decide to get one make sure you are super hydrated before and after as massages cause your body to naturally detox and can cause headaches after the massage.
