Is going to school while pregnant worth it ?

Hi ladies im 9 weeks pregnant and would love to be MORE than financially prepared for our baby. I’ve been thinking about dental assistant course thats only 12 weeks long and $3000 .  My main issue is i work full time average business hours 8-6 pm including weekends .Almost all the programs I’ve found have classes during my work hours. I have spoke with one rep who says we can probably do it since classes are only 3 days a week but it could take longer to complete the program. 
What would you do or suggest??

I’m tired and fatigued right now. I’m unsure if I could go to work and school at the same time. It all depends how you feel right now. As soon as I had my first child I had a drive like no other to finish school and I did.

I’m a teacher, I commute an hour which makes my days go from about 5:30 am to 6 pm and I am currently in a grad school program online. I’m a little over half way and will be done in June. I also have a 4 year old. There’s no way I could be attending classes on top of all that. Maybe if I didn’t have my 4 year old it would be different, but definitely not with kids! I don’t want to give up any more time than I have to! I’m also 5 weeks pregnant now and glad I’ll be done before the baby comes.

I’m actually a dental assistant! I have been for about 4 years now. It’s a very demanding job and can be tiring. I did work full time but I’m now 15 weeks and the fatigue hit me and the hours were just to much so I now cut down to 3 days which has been very manageable for me. It’s great to be making your own money while pregnant I’m planning I’m working up until my body allows me to. Dental assisting is not for everyone but if you have an intrest in it I’m sure you will enjoy it! See how you go don’t push yourself to work if you feel that you can’t.

I think that u might have to re up your certificate in a year...I think ....so if u plan on using it before then ,then I would go for it . be a career mom

I know nothing about dental assistant programs or jobs, but as someone pregnant with baby #4 I can advise you that second trimester is the best time of pregnancy to take on anything. First trimester is fatigue and nausea, 3rd trimester you're lugging a big belly around and exhausted. 2nd trimester is the best time of pregnancy in my experience!

i wish i was able to to go to school during my pregnancy, wasn’t due to fafsa taking to long, but i worked instead and ugh if i could have gone to school as well during this pregnancy i would. but do what you can afford and tolerate bc i also worked until being put on bed rest (38 wks) and worked a more strenuous job than a lot of woman can manage while pregnant so everyone is definitely different!!

I’m a full time college student just completed my first semester took 18 credits and it was the toughest 4 months but I finished 8 months pregnant and I only now have 5 more weeks to go.
It was worth it because I was just sitting around anyway so why not.
Next semester starts 1/29 and I’m due 2/4 I will be attending my first week of classes and then giving birth and hearing back to class after I’m released from the hospital.
I am not going to let being pregnant or having a baby stop me from completing my goal. All of my older kids (youngest just turned 4) are excited mommy has homework too.
My babe is my ultimate support system because he will be keeping our daughter during the day for 5hrs while I attend all morning classes. That way I don’t stop school and he goes to work when I come home.

Dental Assistant or Dental Hygienist? Did you first look into Dental Assistant jobs & how practical training for that is? I don't know of dental offices that hire anything other than hygienists and receptionists.

I work 7 days a week 12 hours in a factory doing real manual labor. 29 weeks. and have a 2 year old son. I take 2 evening classes a week. my children motivate me.
