Military baby gender based on branch?

Question

I’ve heard it from my husband and from others as well and I don’t know if there’s any merit to it.
 
My hubby works on a submarine and says that submariners will conceive girls because they spend too much time around men and the radiation but who knows if that’s true. 
Do any of you have experience with this? We want a boy but have a girl (different dad) and I would be okay having another girl too. I keep telling him now is the time because everyone around us is having boys too

My husband works on airplanes for the AF and says there is a “curse” for those in his job as a majority of them have baby girls.

My husband is a nuke on subs and we’re hoping for a girl this time around. We have a boy but conceived him during hubby’s shore duty. Honestly, I think it’s another ‘old wives tale’. But don’t tell my husband that. He’s 100% sure it’s girl. Lol

There actually is a lot of truth to this. The radiation does kill off s lot of male sperm as opposed to female sperm because of the weight differences. While not impossible to have a son, it is more difficult.

Both me and my SO have worked in naval nuke propulsion for years now and are expecting a boy for our first. It's a joke and all in good fun. Radiation exposure won't cause you to have more girls vs. boys. And honestly, nuke submariners get less radiation in a year than the average civilian. 😁

That’s funny because my husband works on planes and everyone said it would be a girl because most of the guys in his unit had girls but we ended up having a boy. Really I think it’s just an urban legend lol

My biological father had only one girl, but he and his new wife (after he and my mom divorced) had 5 boys! He worked on submarines... we also have a family friend whose husband is a submariner, and she’s pregnant with boy #2. I think it’s just an old (sub) wives tale, but I am holding out hope that when we start trying in a few years, we’ll have at least one girl...!

Theres no merit to it. We have family friends where the husband did 20+ years on a sub and they have all boys. My brother in law who used to be on subs till he got out has two boys. My other brother in law who works on fighter jets has a girl and a boy. A job doesn’t determine your baby’s gender, the fathers sperm does.
