Bleeding after birth?...

Okay, so FTM here. I know you bleed for 4-6 weeks after birth. But how much blood? Is it like a super heavy flow? Or like a light flow? & I heard no tampons. But why?

Mine was pretty heavy for like a week and then like a medium-heavy for weeks on and off, at least after my first baby. Hope that helps!

It’s a light-medium flow. Kind of like the middle of your period days.

You’re not allowed to stick anything into your vagina for six weeks due to risk of infection.

My recovery was heavy flow! I got the super thick pads and had to change them so many times.

Every woman is different. I had a c section so the bleeding was on the lighter side because they remove much of your lining during the surgery. But it all will vary person to person.

I was bleeding only 1 week and it was heavy :)

It honestly depends on the person. I had a pretty heavy flow for the first 3 weeks or so with my first. But by 6 weeks the bleeding was completely gone. They say NOTHING in the vagina until you’re given the okay (usually 6 weeks) because you’re at a high risk of infection while everything is healing.
