advice needed

so to follow up my boyfriend came home new years eve day after 5 days at his mothers bc i told him to stay with her after a couple of bad days and to thinknof what he wanted... long story short hes unhappy bc i dont like his job and the stress of the new house... he feels me not liking his job wont change which it has since out last convo about it... i stopped making comments or any negative.. he thinks our 3.5 yr relations ship that had no issues for the past 2 yrs and a 6 mo rough patch isnt savable bc of my dislike of his job.. so we ended it but he doesnt know what he wants he said let him take it daily.. hes been answering me and calling me more than usual.. and keeps saying i love you... im shattered... i want to fighr like hell for us... i see some hipe but scared ro get my hopes up to be shatyered and crushed... any tip anyone been through this
