When to start OPK post-birth control pill?

Hi ladies! I stopped the pill on Nov 17 and then had my withdrawal bleed a few days later. Now I’m CD 48 so thinking my body isn’t back to normal yet. My husband and I are TTC and people keep suggest OPKs. Thing is, i have no idea where I am in my cycle given the irregularities from stopping the pill. Should I wait until I get a period to start using OPKs or should I just use them every day to see what’s going on? THANKS and baby dust to all!

You can start whenever you want. You may ovulate before you start a regular period, you may not. Everyone is different. You can get some good cheapies on Amazon. ClinicGuard for $12. Also start temping. A positive opk only confirms an LH surge and you don’t always ovulate with every surge or every month. At this point it's probably easier / way less expensive to wait and start testing once your next cycle starts. 
That being said depending on how long you took hormonal birth control it can really 
Was up your cycle for a while. I was on birth control for 7 years before deciding to ttc. It took me 9 months to even ovulate and a total of 1 year 8 months to conceive. After my daughter was born we made the decision to not go back on hormonal birth control to avoid complications when ttc again.
