My Boyfriend Cheated And I Stayed..

My boyfriend of 5 years just cheated on me recently and told me that he had cheated because it felt good to make someone else happy. I'm guessing I wasn't showing him that I was happy. The affair or whatever you want to call it went on for 4 months with a girl he told me not to worry about. He's made mistakes in the past but nothing this drastic. After I found out about his cheating he begged me to stay, I told him I would but everything would be different, I needed time to process what was going on and what had happened. I was honestly in shock because of how fine we were. He would go see this other girl after work and have sex with her than come home and snuggle up in bed with me. Sometimes he would come home with gifts probably because he felt like shit for cheating. Anyway my point is he was trying and since it took me a week to process and get over what happened and I'm ready to move on and try and be happy with him he doesn't want to try anymore. I'm confused anymore. Am I wrong for staying and trying? I don't know what to do. Please help. anything, any advice or questions, I need something. 😢💔
