My 4 year old will be downstairs by himself so baby can be in his room. I think it depends on the child.

honestly that sounds really unsafe what if your three year old gets up and goes out the door. They're big enough and usually smart enough to drag a chair over or figure out how to get through the baby deterrent devices to operate the door. that's just my opinion though
