Married too soon?

Question

I was talking to my Co-workers and we were all talking about how we met our husbands and when we got married. My husband and I met at work, worked with each other for about 6 months. We started dating and then got engaged at 6 months, then married at 11 months. They all said that was way too soon, and that we rushed things. But we never felt this, everything just aligned and worked. I don’t regret it, I’m just a little sad that they were making me feel ashamed for not waiting.

You really won’t know if you got married too soon or not until your marriage is over. No one has a crystal ball. As every marriage ends. So wait to see which way it ends, in death or divorce. 🤷🏻‍♀️

My husband and i were engaged after 7 months of dating. We got married 6 months later! We are perfectly happy and in love! Don't listen to others! When you know, you know! ❤️

Don't feel bad because you knew he was the one sooner than most do! People will always try to poke at others happiness. Do you or your SO feel the same? If not, who cares what others think. My SO and I knew right away too. I'm very thankful for that! It's the best feeling knowing the same feelings you have are reciprocated. It's a love not everyone is blessed to know.

It takes some longer to realize they should be with someone. My SO and I have only been together a short time took me longer to realize I wanted to date him; he knew the minute he met me and I didn't even look at him twice the first time we met lol. We met again later and he went out of his way to help me move and after a day of moving furniture I knew too. We have had ups and downs but mostly ups and I've never been treated so well

My parents got engaged after 6 weeks, married about a year after that, 34 years and counting. I was with someone for about 4 years, engaged for 2, divorced in 7. I really don't think there's a magical time it takes to find your mate. If you're happy, embrace it. Now I've been with my man for 2 years and who knows when we'll get married? We will do what works for us.

So, I’m going to be devil’s advocate, and I hope no one takes this the wrong way. But statistically, it does take time to truly know a person’s true color. And getting married before (I believe) 2 years puts one at a higher risk of divorce. I’ve had friends get married quickly and divorced just as fast. Im also friends with a couple that got married after 5-6 months of dating and are happy. I would just enjoy your marriage though, because ultimately only you know what will truly make you happy.

My parents met and were married 6 months later. It was a 2nd marriage for both of them. They're still going strong 30+ yrs later (Yea, I cannot remember how long they've been together. lol)
