The pill and spots

Hey ladies. So I've been on the same pill for ages now a good few year that is... One time it cleared my face up and right now my getting nothing but spots!!!!!!! One side of my face flares up whilst the lather goes down. Could this be my pill? Should I change it what's the risks/side effects of me changing my pill- I'm just worried case I don't like it or don't respond well to it and have to start all over again. Any advise suggestions please any one help?!!!!!
