Would you miss work if your husband is sick?

I don’t mean in the hospital, I mean just regular cold/mild flu stuff. 
I’m asking because I have a coworker who misses work in order to “take care” of her husband every time he gets the sniffles and insists that she absolutely must go to the doctor with him when he needs to go. Is that normal? Because, if so, I have really been a bad wife. 😳

Maybe her partner has anxiety and going to the doctors is difficult for him. Maybe he can't drive or have easy access without her. Either way it's up to management whether that's okay or not. I get huge anxiety about going to doctors because of my phobias. I still try to go alone, but I wish I could have my partner with me to make the process easier. You never really know someone's situation

It depends. I’m an icu nurse so it takes a lot to have me convinced that you’re sick lol I typically wouldn’t miss work to take care of him...I honestly think the only time I’ve called in for him was when he actually went to the ER for his illness.

For the sniffles or mild things like that? Heck no. Hubby is a grown man 
But if he had the flu or something awful, I'd volunteer to stay home to take care of him. And then he'd say no, because that's just who he is. And then I'd go to work.

I don't think so. He's an adult, there's no reason he needs to be catered to over the sniffles. My husband has stayed home from work when I was sick, but it was only because my head was glued to the toilet and I couldn't take care of the baby by myself.

I would say no but that is just me. now if my husband couldn't move had trouble breathing or anything serious you bet I would stay home and take him to the doctor but not for a cold.

I have missed work to take my husband to the doctor. He was feeling really lightheaded and didn’t feel comfortable driving. But I also have a flexible job with a lot of PTO, so it was easy for me to take the day off.
