Love your child more than your SO?

Do you believe in the saying you should love your child more than your SO? Even if he is the father. As personally I don't, I love them both equally. My love for my child doesn't out weigh the love i have for my SO. My heart has plenty of room to love them both unconditionally.

I have never heard of loving your child more than your spouse - that’s ludicrous to me! They aren’t the same type of love, but I put my spouse above our children and he does the same. Your children grow up and leave, your spouse is your life partner. This isn’t in terms of safety or if kids literally rely on you. Also, my husband is an adult, I will weigh his opinion heavier than some toddlers.

I love my husband and my son equally, but differently. Losing either would completely destroy me.

I love them equally. I would forgive my child for anything she ever did no matter how wrong, not my spouse though. Unconditional love doesn’t exist for a marriage but it does for your children.
