There are positives and negatives when it comes to internet usage, and teens are at a delicate phase in their lives. I would even describe it as a vulnerable stage. The internet allows for a lot of dangers that some teenagers may not be able to handle so well. While online it is easier for them to dish out bullying while also being a victim of it. What do you think?

Just like the last asinine poll about who the internet is/isn’t a safe space for, there is no answer because everyone is different. I leave parenting decisions for each child up to the parents of that child. 🤦🏻‍♀️

The problem is people shielding kids from the world, rather than teaching about it. Worried about your kid finding dodgy stuff online? Explain that the Internet is used by lots of adults that say and post things that are inappropriate, and that if they see something that upsets or confuses them they need to talk to you. Show them safe sites to use, encourage them being open with what they're doing, and teach them about online bullying and why it happens. Blocking them from seeing the world doesn't make it any safer, it makes it more likely that they won't know what to do if they face a problem. Education is better than avoidance

It really depends on the individual child, some are more responsible and mature than others. 
If you feel like your teenager is not ready for it then you don’t give them access.

Like most people are saying it really does depend on the teen, lots of people don't care what they see it won't make them want to change or look or act a certain way but then you also have these kids who everything they see they want to replicate in behavior and looks. The internet is not good for kids especially things like social media but the internet can also be a safe spot for people who know how to handle it and who can also get help for things they can't get help at home for.

I voted “not enough info” because really, it’s an individual thing. It’s not too much for some teens at all, some teens have seen enough shit in the real world that the internet isn’t all that scary 🤷‍♂️ but of course for others, it can definitely be too much. It also depends on how you use the internet. The internet is as much good as it is bad and if you know how to use it responsibly, you can have a good deal of control over what you see and how it affects you. I don’t think it’s a one answer situation.

I think there is a place on the internet for teens. Obviously there should be some restrictions, but no, I don’t think the internet is too intense. And yes I say that with bias, seeing that I’m a 15 year old girl currently talking to you via the internet. The internet is a scary place sometimes, and no doubt it is misused, but it’s also a place to learn. I learn a lot using the internet. I am able to speak to people from all over the world. I am able to connect with people from all over the world and find common interests. I can express myself and have a virtual space of my own.

It depends I think. I had restrictions on time that I was allowed on the internet and while I hated it at the time, I think it was good. This was before the days of smart phones though, the internet is so easily accessible now.
