Tampons

Help!! I am 13, I have tried to use a tampon on three separate occasions. I can’t use one to save my life! I am unable to get it inside and it’s so frustrating. I spend a lot of time at the beach and lake in the summer time. I went to the lake twice and beach three times last summer. I was on my period all times. I’ve tried everything and I know all the tips... relax, leg on the toilet blah blah blah. It doesn’t work! Could I be doing something wrong? All I end up with is pain, a bloody mess and a waisted tampon.
