confused and worried

so I was planning on having a baby. but then they other day I got my period. so maybe this wasnt my month for a baby. but then today my period has been extremely heavy..like i have to chnsge my tampon every 45 mins to an hour. (im sorry if it tmi) but when I chnage it it completely soaked. I use the regular. so maybe I just need to use the supers this time. I'm jist a bit confised because my period has NEVER been like this bedore. like whaen I was 15 or so it was a bit on heavy side but not this bad. I do not have any form of birth control in at all. About a month ago i got my iud taken out and had my period right after that, when i was supposed to and it was compeltely normal. so maybe it the hormones getting out of my syste. or something. Can someone help me or give me some advice please?
