Defeating my acne!

Marlea

Hey! I commented recently with these pics but I wanted to go more in depth with my acne struggle city. So I hit puberty in 4th grade, and from the moment I had a period I’ve also struggled with acne! My mom used to cover it up for me before I got into makeup at the early time of 7th grade. My skin is difficult to treat, because I also have eczema which happens very often in the winter and can be triggered by acids and things that dry my face. I’ve been to the dermatologist three times, and nothing would work, or if it did, would trigger my eczema. This is also why I couldn’t take those pills that claim to get rid of acne, because it makes you extremely dry. In 10th grade, I found out about Curology and it worked very well. However, it was $40 a month and I was paying for it myself. My parents were hesitant to put me on birth control, but after months of begging, they finally did. Here are some of “progress” pics.

Before treatment pics:

Getting rid of my acne has boosted my confidence so much. I used to wear 3 layers of foundation, concealer, and powder foundation to cover my acne. Now, I just wear under eye concealer for my eye bags. I had to get up 3 hours earlier to put my makeup on which was mostly skin related. I wouldn’t be caught dead in public without makeup over my acne, even swimming.
