Married young ???

So my bf is going into the service, we’re both 18 and the only way I️ can move around with him is if were married. We’ve been together for almost 3 years (it’ll be 3 in feb). We were planning on getting married around 23 but we both have no problem doing it a little early so we can stay together. What do y’all think about getting married at 18 ?

I say, in my opinion, is that you wait and go through the first deployment and see how you and him feel about it
If you still want to be together after that, then get married
But if you have never been through a deployment before, I believe you should wait before making it a legal binding deal. It will be harder to leave if you both decide it is not for you

Honestly, I just don't think it's a good idea. You change SO much between your late teen years and your twenties, I feel like most of us aren't lucky enough to grow with our high school sweeties. I was engaged to my teenage boyfriend and we were together 4 years. We just changed as we got older and unfortunately we just didn't stay compatible as adults the way we were as kids. Obviously you're legally an adult and can do what you want, but I would wait at least through his first deployment to see if that's even something you can deal with in the long term. I really and truly hope you guys end up together in the long run, but from personal experience between myself and friends who has long term relationships as teenagers, by advice is to wait on marriage.

Another thing is I️ left for college which is 4 hours away from home and him so I️ don’t get to see him as much and we’re dealing with it a lot better than I️ thought we would and it’s been 6 months so far and our relationship is still strong and since it’s long distance I️ figured we already kinda been through the whole “deployment” stage in a way ya know ?
