Shortening break week?!

Does anyone ever shorten the break week on the pill? Im 8 weeks postpartum and still bleeding! I started the pill at 3 weeks postpartum and skipped my first break week hoping it would stop the bleeding but it didn’t. So I decided to take a break week! I’m on day 4 and the bleeding is so heavy! I think iv got postpartum bleeding and a withdrawal bleed and cramps!! I want to restart the pill to see if it will stop! If not the doctor said I have to go for a scan to see if anything’s been left over! Iv read it’s perfectly fine to shorten it??
