Marvelon Mid cycle (day7) advice??

My gyno did a routine check after I told her I wanted to start my pills. She prescribed me Marvelon, 21 pills. She told me to ask the pharmacist about it and kind of rushed me out of her office, cause it was time for her to leave before I could ask anything else.

The pharmacist told me that since I’m about to start my pills mid cycle (day 7),

Option 1:

I should continue taking all 21 pills and then stop till I get my period. Once I get my period I should start the next strip on that day.

Option 2:

However, after reading the info leaflet inside the pill pack, it said I should have the pills for 21 days, wait for 7 days and then start a new pack on the 8th day.

I feel option 1 could eliminate periods which I don’t want.. I don’t know which one to follow to ? Help?
