I had my first at age 38. Got pregnant the first month of trying. We’d only been married for five months. Pregnancy and delivery were healthy. My son is now 21 months. He’s awesome... so much personality and he makes us laugh on a daily basis. Buuuuuut... he still nurses and hasn’t slept through the night yet.

I’m 40 now. I want another, but my husband, age 39, is on the fence. He thinks we’re already too tired and that having another this close to our first child will put us over the edge of fatigue.

He wants to wait until I’m no longer breastfeeding and our son is sleeping through the night. I’m worried that waiting will cause us to miss our window. The women in my family are historically pretty fertile... but I also don’t want the opportunity for another child to pass us by.
