New study: holding your baby a lot alters their DNA for years
Next time you have someone telling you that you hold your baby too much, you can let them know that new research in humans shows that holding and cuddling babies actually changes them at a molecular level/their DNA. Previous research done in rats also supported these findings. Based on the new study, babies who got less physical contact were more distressed at a young age and had slower epigenetic aging (biological immaturity) which could reflect less favorable developmental progress.
