How does your OB treat your SO/husband?

My OB and nurses can be very stand offish to my husband. My husband almost comes to every appointment and they basically turn their backs to him while talking to me. I can honestly feel tension in the room. My husband wants to be there for me and I often need an extra set of ears to hear the information they are telling us. I understand that I am the one carrying the baby but he has a big part too and I need him! I want him to understand what is going on as well. Does any one else experience this?

My husband works a lot so doesn’t get to come to all my regular OB appointments, but my mom comes in with me to keep my 2 yr old busy and hear the heartbeat and all that. My OB says a quick hello to them but the rest of the time is focused on me and my pregnancy. She never seems annoyed that they’re there though. 
If you’re early on I’d probably try to find a new OB so he doesn’t feel like he’s being a burden by being there, especially when you’re delivering.

No, they love my husband where we go and we both have different questions we ask and are just as respectful to his questions and concerns as they are mine. I usually bring my one year old too and they give him a sticker or something and are sweet to him too

Our OB is awesome. She always makes sure he's involved. At our 28 week appointment we had the post partum depression talk. She told me what signs to watch for and then told him what to watch for because I may not recognize it or admit it. So we both know what to look for. Any decisions we have to make, she makes sure he's included and heard. He may not be carrying the child, but she is still his child.

No my husband is very talkative and always making jokes so he has everyone in there laughing including the doctor. They seem pretty rude dads are a big party of the pregnancy too

Mine definitely focus primarily on me, but they also make sure that my husband doesn't have any questions or concerns about the pregnancy.

We don't have OB's in general appts in yhe UK we have midwives, theyve always included him
