Child in Control?

I, within the past 2 years, got into a relationship with someone who has a 5 year old girl. Her toys consume the living room, dining room, and her bedroom. Every time it's time for a meal he always asks her what she wants for dinner and she gets the final say. last night she actually told us we were having lasagna for dinner and pancakes for breakfast. which my boyfriend did. Also, when it comes to television it is only her shows and if I try and put something on that I want to watch, kid appropriate, she will tell me she doesn't want to watch it and I need to change it cause she picks what she wants to watch. because I'm new at this dating someone with a child, is this normal behavior for a single dad? Or will this little girl grow up to be spoiled like I think?
