shaving irritation!!!!

I shave (down there) only the day I go see my boyfriend, but I'd like to shave everytime as needed but I can't. it's painful. even with using shaving cream and brand new razor and it's so hard to everything and stay smooth. I always get razor bumps, there isn't a time when I'm shave down there and don't get razor bumps. and what I hate is that I will shave one night and it's half way back the next day and I've tried to shave it the next day but it hurts even worse, my skindoes. does anyone have any tips or tricks? or what do u do? PS I wasn't sure what group to put this in
