Sickness and sleeping

Alyssa • 25. Brixton’s Momma; CHOC regular. Bridal stylist. Chronic illness warrior.

I have a ten month old boy named Brixton. He has had health issues since the day he was born, including a month in the NICU.

Anyway, he’s now come down with the flu and we have been monitoring him closely. He’s usually a great sleeper... unless he’s sick. So, tonight he won’t sleep unless he’s being held. Do you guys think it’s okay to create a safe space and have him sleep with me in my bed tonight?

And here’s a picture of him for reference (I’m officially that mom who can’t stop showing pictures hahah)

UPDATE: I owe you amazing women my life. I created his safe space and let him sleep in my arms. While sleeping, he had starting choking and had a seizure. I’m currently sitting with his in my arms at the Children’s Hospital in isolation. He has both RSV and influenza A H3N2. If you guys hadn’t supported me, I may have never noticed what was going on. I am eternally thankful 💛
