Do you agree that in order for a man to have a successful relationship with any other woman, he must first have an understanding with his child's mother on where they stand?

It wouldn’t be so difficult if people realize a child doesn’t sexually bind you together for the rest of your life. If you want to mess around then just be together lol

I think that I somewhat agree because of my personal experience with this, I think it’s very important the man be very solid in his understanding of where his relationship is which his child’s mother. That being said I know the mother may not share those feelings or her feelings may change. For example my husbands ex wife and mother of his children had an emotional “on again off again” relationship for years after their divorce. He was her comfort zone and she always came back to that zone when she needed him, he wanted his “family” back so he held out hope for almost 6 years that eventually she would come back permanently. After that six years he realized there was no permanence in the situation and after being a yo yo his feelings towards her had changed. A couple years later we met and three years later we married and now expecting our first child together. During his time she has still struggled to not be emotionally dependent on him when it suits her needs and though he practices healthy boundaries with her she has trouble due to her traumatic youth accepting those boundaries no matter how they are presented.

I 100% agree. That's why my fiance & his daughters mother are on fine terms & she is happy for us getting married & would like to officiate

What do you mean by “where they stand”? Like if they are still together or not?? My husband has children with 2 different woman and it’s never been an issue. His ex wife even came to our wedding. His marriage had been over for 7 years when we met and his relationship with his daughters Mom had been over for 2 years.
