Does Valium work?

I got prescribed 5mg valium to take the night before the dentist, 1 hr before my appointment, & if that one doesnt work then another at the office. I have a major phobia of the dentist & get crazy anxiety at one (i had to get tied to a table, held down, & put in a sound proof room for a cleaning) & i have to get some work done friday. Will the valium help?

I had extractions to get done and told them there's no way unless they knock me out. They gave me Valium to take an hour before the appointment, and it kicked in 5 minutes later. It definitely gets you high, so make sure you have someone to take you and bring you back home. I was so afraid too but because of the Valium, I ended up falling asleep during it and didn't see or feel a thing! I have a couple more extractions to get, and when I do I'm requesting Valium. It'll help you a lot!

yes it'll help,that's a higher dose i was prescribed.  made me very relaxed
