Ovulation Frustration Part 2

Here’s a question: Would an early period cause one to ovulation later in the cycle? My period, which is usually very regular) was inexplicably 5 days early this month. I have been getting positive LH since Friday evening with the test being darker than control today. I’ve never tracked ovulation before and this is first month TTC. If I ovulate today that is CD17. Is that even late? On Friday ultrasound showed my biggest follicle being 12mm. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
