Complex cyst
I recently had my dating scan where they discovered a complex cyst on my right ovary (baby is healthy and fell pregnant in first month of TTC)
The report shows it is a complex, multi loculated cyst which is just under 5cm. Complex means it is solid as well as fluid so it won’t just go away. They are thinking a possible dermoid cyst.
I am now 8 weeks pregnant and have a specialist app with a gynaecologist next week for some further guidance on management.
I am completely asymptotic with no pain, I had no idea it was even there (although now any little niggle I associate with the cyst).
The doctor seemed to think they won’t remove it until baby is born given I am asymptotic. I have read there is risk of torsion or rupture during pregnancy.
Can anyone share a similar experience of having a cyst either removed surgically while pregnant or leaving it conservatively until after birth?
Thanks :)
