Question

So next month I go for my 6week Postpartum check up. We are going to decide on birth control. Well my husband and I went almost 2 years just keeping track of my ovulation and period and using condoms. But Should I get birth control since I’ve had a baby and I’m supposedly very fertile the year after? If so what kind is the best?

It's totally your call. I'm in the third trimester with my first and starting to think about this as well. Before pregnancy I was on the pill for 10 years so have been leaning toward the mini pill. But I have a feeling I won't be able to manage to take it as diligently as is needed while caring for a newborn (gotta take it within the hour every day). For that reason I'm considering an iud, but I still haven't decided for sure.

After I had my daughter i was on the pill but then it was hard to keep track so sometimes i would forget to take it. So i decided to do the depo shot and thats every three months but i didnt want to keep going to the clinc every 3 months either so i decided to get the nexplanon and i like it better because you have it on for 3 years and also heads up if you do get the nexplanon and you and your hubby decide to have s** without a condom and he you know what inside you the nexplanon prevents it from going in. But you should go with which ever you think works best for you.
