I want to start a new job 8 hours a week I am a single mum currently on income support, will this effect my rent, childcare ext I will get payed £72 a week will I be better off? Advice

No I think you can work up to 16hours a week and still get your income support. However this may have changed since I last worked in Recruitment so check with your local job center. 
Ps please make sure you let them know and do not work for cash in hand.

Definitely make sure that UK moms are the ones who respond to you. In the U.S. the system is so different so we don't know how income effects government assistance where you are.
