**My birth story**

On Wednesday January 24th I was admitted into the hospital during my 38th week pregnancy checkup due to high blood pressure & protein in my urine. I was dilated to a one at that time. I get to the hospital & my anxiety goes through the roof & so does my blood pressure. They finally give me something to calm me down & my blood pressure goes back down. My blood test results showed very little protein so if I did have preeclampsia, the doctors told me it was very mild. I was induced the night of January 25th, which is me & my fiancé’s 2 year engagement anniversary. It took the pitocin a long time to kick in. I was having contractions, but couldn’t feel them. I dilated to a 2 & that was it. They eventually upped the pitocin & the pain kicked in! I went from a 2 to a 8 within no time & I started begging for an epidural. After 5 attempts I finally got my epidural going & I was ready to have my baby. I pushed for 20 minutes & my little guy was in this world on January 26th. 6 pounds 13 ounces of pure perfection. I got to spend time with him & bond. Even tried breastfeeding. The next day is when things get kinda scary. I started hemorrhaging & my blood levels went from 14 to 6.2 overnight. They gave me a blood transfusion & my levels came up to 9.5. After spending 5 days in the hospital I finally got to bring my baby boy home! He’s been home for 6 days now. Had his first checkup & he’s healthy as can be! My labor & delivery didn’t happen at all like I planned. In fact it went the way I hoped & prayed it wouldn’t, but at the end of the day the outcome was still the same. I got my baby boy & that’s all that matters.
