Growth ultrasound at 38 weeks?

Has anyone had an ultrasound at 38 weeks to check on the growth for a baby previously growth restricted? I have one scheduled on the 27th and I'll be 38.5 so it makes no sense to me. She'll be so squished in there by then how can they see anything or get any accurate measurements? Just curious if anyone else had an ultrasound that late in their pregnancy?

My son had multiple health issues but growth restriction was one of them. I had tons of ultrasounds. The last one was at 36 weeks. He was right around 4 pounds. They did as good of measurements as they could and estimated. They should be able to get atleast a good idea of the size.

They measure the fluid pools around the baby, the abdominal circumference and the head circumference.. also femur length. So they don’t measure the baby as a whole. I had my second growth scan today at 36+2

ive had 2 due to measuring small i had one at 37+3 and im having another on tuesday at 39+3 if theres any problems then they will discuss the outcome of your birth ect i got tolled if there no growth change they will discuss about inducing me x
