need answers

so baby was already gonna be a planned C-section at 38 weeks due to diabetes currently 34+4 and was hospitalized three days ago cuz apparently I have gotten gestational hypertension all the sudden and they are concerned it will turn into pre-eclampsia both ob and high risk docs say baby boy has to be born at 37 weeks or sooner I'm hoping I can make it to at least 37 my question is I really wanted to breast feed but was told baby don't develop sucking reflexes good until 38 to 39 weeks are there any mommas here that had a 37 weeker and still successfully breast fed got my final growth scan yesterday he is estimated to weigh 4 lbs 14 oz
