Iron pills?

Question

If anyone is on iron pills for anemia , how did you keep them down? It says take on empty stomach so I tried that (3x) and threw up every time. So I tried eating with them, I threw up. Anything I can do??

If this is a doctor prescribed dosage go back and tell them you can’t keep them down. They shouldn’t be affecting you this badly and if you can’t keep them down anyway it’s pointless to keep taking them. You might need a lower dosage or a slow release pill so it’s not overwhelming your system.

I have and had same problem. I began eating loads of food rich in iron and only took 1 pill 3 times a day instead of 2 pills 3 times a day and my doctor said that was fine as either way my iron levels were going up which is a good sign. On keeping it down I'd just suggest not eating for maybe 20 minutes after just so you don't feel sick strait after x
