Should I cut my long hair??

Question

Ive been growing my hair for 3-4 years and haven't touched it. It's become a huge part of me and I'm not sure I'm ready to get rid of it. It's so beautiful and long, I feel like losing it could really take a chunk of my heart with it. The only reason I'm thinking to cut it is because of split ends and lots of hair breakage from having to yank on my hairbrush to get tangles out.

Maybe just trim the dead ends and get a hair treatment. Keratin treatment is supposed to help with dry or damaged hair, but there are mixed reviews on it. I’m sure a hair stylist would have other treatments available as well. When I was younger, I had hair long like yours and had the spontaneous idea to cut it all off...like basically boy cut short. It was the terrible decision. I’ve been trying to grow it back for a decade? I’m not sure how much you plan to cut, but I’d just suggest thinking about for a bit before making a decision.

I would say if you arent ready to cut it dont. But you should cut some length off if you have split ends because there isn't a way to repair that kind of damage. If you don't get a trim, the split ends will continue up the hair shaft and you will have to eventually cut it shorter anyway.

Gorgeous hair. Maybe just have it trimmed or a couple inches cut. Just to keep it healthy. It will grow back. You could also do like deep conditioning treatments on your hair to keep it healthier once it’s trimmed

Instead of cutting it, you could try using castor oil. Massage it into your scalp and strands and keep it for an hour or overnight. It stains so take care. It has other health benefits too, like reducing mental stress and stuff.

If its dye free you should cut to donate fir wigs for people with cancer. I think they want 8"? You would still be left with long hair.
