Almost pulled a “this is us”

My mom insisted that I get a clip on lamp to put in my sons room so when I nurse in the middle of the night all I have to do is turn the lamp on and throw a blanket over the lamp (apparently my sister does this so it’s not so bright) I told her I wasn’t gonna do that cuz it’s dangerous.... well I decided to try it... not even 5 min later I smell smoke and notice the blanket burning!!! Thankfully I was awake and was able to stop it before it happened.... I feel so dumb! What do you all do for a bit of light when nursing in the middle of the night?
