Nits in child hair. Sorry had to vent. (UPDATE)

I’m upset, my child went on a 3 day field trip with her school 2.5 hrs away from the school and when they got up there the school called the teachers and said do a lice check on JUST the girls so when it come to my child they realized she had a few eggs ( I was told by a few people no bugs where found) so they went upon their self to treat her hair right then and there after the were don’t checking all 4th-6th grade girls and I got a call while they were in the middle of treating her saying what all happen and what’s going on, I was upset that they where treating her without mine or my husbands permission but I thought cuz they were doing that they would have kept her then cuz the place said she could stay they would just wash all her stuff she brought with but the school said no she has to go home but all the teacher and the place were trying to get them to let her stay so I had to drive 2 hrs to meet then to get her and she was crying cuz all the kids knew what was going on cuz she was the only child that had to leave and now she don’t even want to go back to school Thursday when she is back in for them cuz she don’t want kids to ask her questions or make fun of her. I’m just so pissed that the school waiting til they were all the way up there to do that and I told them if I knew she had nits I would have treated her but we haven’t had to deal with this stuff in YEARS and I try to keep up with going threw her hair just in case cuz there has been quiet a few cases in the school this year.

Her teacher said if they wouldn’t get it trouble he would have never called the school and she could have stayed.

She is almost 11 yrs old, and the other part is the people who treated her are parents of kids that go to school with my daughter.

We live in Minnesota.

Tomorrow she will be going back to school since Monday and she said she’s a little scared on what kids will say to her and that, I told her it’s none of their business and you don’t have to tell her anything.

I will be going in tomorrow morning and asking her teacher who thought it was a smart idea to do what they did without mine or my husbands permission.
