Just curious to what everyone used and experiences with each 😊

I have a midwife with hospital privileges, I hear too often that doctors push for inductions and c sections. I want someone on my side that’ll respect my birth plan when the time is needed. If complications arise then I’ll be already at the hospital and have access to an ob if needed. Also my midwife works in a two person team so I’m guaranteed to have someone I know with me, with doctors it could be one of many that do your delivery.

I signed up for midwives, but wound up getting assigned an OBGYN I had never met.  
It was terrible.
It happened bc the midwives decided my baby’s heart deceleration required a hospital admission.  So they passed me off- and this woman I had never seen before was my doctor.
She wanted to c-section me immediately because of ONE heart decel.  (Which is a huge overreaction).
I bargained her down to an induction.
Even though the baby was fine all weekend  at the hospital (no more decels, continuous monitoring)........ 
The OBGYN was rolling her eyes at me and acting like I was trying her patience by not wanting more intervention.
Finally she insisted I had to have a section, saying it’s “taken long enough already”.  
(My water hadn’t even broken yet..... so, that was an absurd statement).
The sectioned the baby out and found - lo and behold- he was fine.  No cord around the neck.  No heart problems.  No nothing.  The c-section was entirely unnecessary.
Later on, while speaking to a doula, I learned that the OBGYN I got has a reputation for pushing interventions.
I would NEVER have picked someone like her on purpose.
This time I am going for midwives again- bc obviously the risk of unneeded interventions is lower with them.  But only after meeting all the OBGYNS they work with!  
I don’t ever want to be introduced to my doctor on delivery day again.

I loved my ob and her nurse, both were super helpful and quick to return calls. Her office doesnt do inductions on a healthy pregnancy until 10 days over. They don’t push interventions and c sections. The hospital I delivered at had jacuzzi tubs for natural births.

I used an midwife but she worked at a hospital and was part of a practice with OBs. She was and still is my gyno and I love her which is why I chose to stay with her during my pregnancy. Unfortunately I had to see other doctors during my pregnancy, bc they want you to see other docs Incase that doc is on call when you go into labor. That way you’ve at least met them. But non of the doctors pushed for induction or c section in my experience. It seemed as though they didn’t want to even discuss it prior to 40wks, which was fine by me. At my 39wk apt I saw my midwife and she said if I was still pregnant at my 40wk apt we could discuss induction if I wanted, I’d have been 40+3 but my baby ended up coming on his own at 40wks exactly. So I think it really depends on the doctor.
