Parents

Im hesitant posting this because I know I will get shit on because I’m not 18 quite yet.

Im 17, 18 im April. I live with my parents of course and am a senior in highschool. I am extremely involved in school and work 20+ hours a week, and also have a boyfriend. My parents are just becoming more and more controlling. What started as my mom saying “text me when you get there” turned into “tell me exactly what’s happening, when, where, why, send me pictures when you get there so i know that’s where you’re at”

I have never been a “bad” kid, always choosing to not go to parties, drink, etc.

My dad, on the other hand, wow. It doesn’t help that I’ve recently found out he’s an alcoholic but he is just a whole other level. He is trying to tell me whether or not I can leave my current job I am unhappy with, where I have to go to college, where I have to live, how many hours a week I need to work when I’m at college, how I’m going to pay for school (im doing it by myself).

Also, I know someone’s going to say I should talk to them about it. I have tried. They either get overly mad and start screaming at me or just sit there and belittle me.

There is so much more that I can’t type in this one post but I honestly just feel so suffocated and it makes me want to get out of this house even more.

Oh, and I forgot about the money situation. I am not able to see how much money is in my account, ever. If i want to know, I have to ask my mom directly. Also, if my dad finds out I got a snack at say, chick fil a one day before work he gets extremely mad, even though it’s my money that I worked for.
