Should I get a perm?

I just went through another rough breakup and really need a fresh change. I’m sorely tempted to go back to the pixie cut, but it’s been hell growing this out so I’m looking for other suggestions! 😂 I’m considering a loose body wave, or maybe dying it...but I’m open to new ideas! Please help a girl start feeling herself again ❤️

I know there’s a possibility that a perm might make it way shorter and maybe old-ladyish, but I think it’d be worth it, just to have something different. It looks okay on first wash day, like in that first picture, it has lots of volume and wave. But if I skip a day or two of washing, it goes limp and I look awful :/ halp!
