Should i give him the gift?

So i bought a birthday present for the guy i liked. I bought it for him when i liked him, we are really good friends, so i figured it would have been fine. But then yesterday he lied to me, and i absolutely hate it when people lie to me, bc i have trust issues and he was one of the few people that i thought i actually could trust, and i was thinking about keeping my distance from him, and now idk whether or not to give him his birthday gift. We dont go to the same school, so i dont see him in person very often, but in seeing him next week, which is a week before his birthday. Oh also the gift was a calligraphy pen with changable ends with a little thing of ink. It was about 15-20$
