Should I be upset or not??

So I’m in a fairly new relationship!! We’ve been dating 6 months...and I try to be understanding. This is his 1st relationship since his divorce. So we see each other once a month because we live 35 miles apart and he was working long hours!! And every other week he has his daughter..which I haven’t met yet!! I’m trying to be understanding and all but yesterday was my birthday and I really wanted him to be there!! So he sent an early morning txt but that was it. Maybe I’m being unrealistic but I was hoping for a little more from him!! He’s already said Valentines Day is out because he has his daughter!! Maybe next weekend but no guarantee and I feel kinda a cheated!! I really wanted our 1st Valentine to be special!! Am I wrong for feeling sad and upset??

You’re wasting your time. He’s obviously more unavailable than available. Perhaps he’s not fully ready for a relationship, sounds like your selling yourself short.

35 miles isn't far. I see a guy the same distance 2-3 times a month with only one of us having transportation. I'm the one with a baby in The situation. The effort someone puts in says a lot.

He's showing you what you can expect. His daughter is his priority, and rightly so. And only 6 months, seem to be expecting a lot for that amount of time and time spent together because of distance. I would move on.

I think you’re being reasonable, it was your bday could at least send flowers. You can be understanding but you also have to find someone who is there for you and makes you feel cared and loved. If not then why be in a relationship where your needs are not being fulfilled? Sounds unfair, let go girl, you’re wasting your time when you could be really meeting the right match for you!!
