My first surrogacy journey came to an end

My first surrogacy journey came to an end!

So yesterday (Friday the 9th) I was feeling so frustrated about not having gone into labor yet, pretty much resigned to the fact that I'd be induced. My husband had drill so we went to bed at about 9 I read a book, played on my phone and then laid down to sleep about 10. I'm not sure what woke me up now, but at 11 contractions started I moved around and they kept coming so went to the bathroom and then was going to lay back down, but they were stronger so went to the living room and hung out with my oldest and started timing them, they were 2 to 3 mins apart lasting about 45 to 55 sec. They got strong fast so called my mom at midnight, told her we should go, but she didn't have to hurry because I needed to finish packing. So got that done, woke my hubby and told him what was going on, then left with my mom at 1. Got to the hospital at about 215ish, got checked into triage changed and they checked me. I figured I'd be about a 5 or something, she feels and says your 7cm! Total shock lol, they got me in a room and I jumped on the birthing ball. My Doula showed up around 3, perfect timing as contractions were getting awful lol. Labored for about an hr in a half and she checked me and I was a tight 8. Bbbbooooo lol. Change positions and labored for a little more, when they changed so I got in the bed and it took forever to find the right position. At 430 she checked, and there was just a lip, but baby wasn't coming down fast enough, so she pushed the lip out of the way as I pushed and got baby passed that. I never got the relief of pushing with this one, she helped baby maneuver down more as I pushed and the head was out, she had the cord wrapped around her neck, not tight but we stopped pushing and un wrapped it, then pushed the body out she was wrapped in her cord lol, no wonder she didn't engage more, or come down the canal during labor. All in all a very quick easy birth, and mama is over the moon. She was 6lbs 5oz and 19in long. Has a pair of lungs on her for sure!
