Boyfriend is cheap

Hello fellow ladies,

I was hoping you can offer some advice, as I don’t know how to proceed anymore.

Me and my boyfriend have had a relationship where sometime so pay for things and other times he does. We don’t look at who is paying for what and it’s is fair- it’s just who will grab that bill. However, recently I have been paying for a lot because he claims to be broke.

However, he makes more money than me and I just bought my first apartment and I truly am struggling with money. I don’t have money for lunch many days and sometime have to travel all the way to my parents house to grab some food. I have tons of doctor bills to pay, and living in nyc truly makes living comfortable. However, I’ve noticed that I’ve been paying for a lot of things recently, and he hasn’t. I brought this up several times and he says sorry and it’s good for a weeek but then the next week I find myself back at square one.

Any advice on how I should approach this subject, since talking about it didn’t do much and talking about money is uncomfortable to begin with. Any advice would be appreciated!
